Hi, I’m David Reid, a business-minded industrial engineer privileged to solve problems for one of the most loved brands in America: Chick-fil-A!

I love all things Lean: reducing waste, adding value, and satisfying Customers up and down the Value Stream. Furthermore, I’m a lifelong learner with the heart of a teacher. I have a passion to encourage and talk shop with other IEs, Lean Thinkers, or anybody with a problem to solve.

At Chick-fil-A, we’re driven by a two-fold Corporate Purpose:

• To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us .
• To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.

I believe to whom much has been given, much is required. Facilitating a conversation about Lean best practices is one way I can share the training and experiences I’ve been given and hopefully make a positive impact on lots of people in many industries. When we cross-pollinate our ideas, we both get better.

So, I’m blogging here to share Lean thinking and best practices. I won’t be revealing any competitive advantages here (sorry, McDonald’s) but rather challenging us (myself included) to think deeply about the basic tools and mindset of Lean. I’d love you to join me, and let’s sharpen our saws…together.
